Institutional Investors

The institutional investor category is broad, covering investment banks, pension funds, endowments, consultants, etc.  This segment of the market has been increasing in importance throughout the last 10 years as typical long only investors searching for alpha increase allocations to alternative assets. This trend is set to continue and the allocation to alternative assets from institutions is expected to be the fastest growing segment in the industry.  Institutions already account for well over 50% of investments in private equity funds.  We have relationships with all the key players, who either invest directly or via consultants.

Fund of Funds

Fund of funds are still one of the most significant group of hedge fund investors, although this category has lost assets during the financial crisis.  The largest fund of funds manage assets in excess of US$10 billion and there are over 160 globally with assets greater than US$1 billion.  For private equity, fund of funds is the second largest investor category, representing approximately 20% of all assets raised.  For real estate funds, fund of funds are less important but growing in significance.  

Private Banks

Private banks have historically been early movers in hedge funds investing and we cover most of them throughout our target area. Private banks where applicable invest in the other alternative asset classes as well.

Family Offices

Family offices are active investors in the alternative industry.  The UK, Switzerland and the US are host to numerous influential single and multi-family offices, although there are also other significant names throughout Europe.

High Net Worth Individuals

We target a select number of high net worth individuals who are experienced investors in alternative assets.
